Montreal Paris NEUROBANK

This Open Science initiative is made possible by an anonymous donation to the scientists at The Neuro, who will use advanced neuroimaging techniques to create a resource for researching brain health and disease.

Why participate

  • To help researchers worldwide discover preventive or therapeutic solutions for brain diseases
  • To increase the diversity of the scientific data and make sure your biological and behavioral characteristics are represented in the statistical “average”
  • To accelerate scientific collaborations beyond borders

What can we achieve?

Creating Cutting-Edge Datasets

Optimized and comprehensive protocols for multimodal and multispectral neuroimaging using 7T MRI will offer new insights into brain function and anatomy.

Contributing to Open Science

The Neuro’s legal and bioinformatics frameworks enable the anonymization and global sharing of rich, de-identified datasets with the brain research community.

Building Open Research Tools

The data will be used to develop new research tools, including analytical software, high-resolution, and multispectral brain atlases, as well as connectomes to map brain networks in both health and disease.

Advancing Brain and Health Research

Comprehensive datasets enable the study of bio-behavioral signatures related to brain health throughout different stages of life.

Accelerating Clinical Research

Open datasets from healthy volunteers help lower the costs associated with gathering control data and support the development of future diagnostic tools for the early detection of brain disorders.

Data collection

We will collect data in four main categories common in clinical studies.

Brain images

High-resolution functional and anatomical MRIs.

Brain waves

High-precision magneto- and electroencephalography (MEG & EEG).

Behaviours

Self-administered surveys and cognitive tests.

Blood (Optional)

Small blood sample for metabolic or genetic analyses (optional).
